LEGAL UPDATE: Did you know that you may be detained from leaving VN if you have not paid your personal income tax (PIT) or if you are the legal representative of a company that has not paid tax?
On 19 October 2020, the Government of Vietnam issued Decree No. 126/ND-CP detailing a number of articles of the Law on Tax Administration 2019 (“Decree 126”).
Decree 126 will take effect from 5 December 2020 and provides further detailed guidance on cases where individuals (Vietnamese, foreigners and/or overseas Vietnamese) may be suspended from exiting Vietnam.
